UNICEF India — 720 pages designed to help critical information travel.
Overview

Scale changed the design problem. Across 720 pages and two languages, the system had to keep information readable, consistent and useful for very different stakeholders.

The challenge

The manual and handbook presented the child-labour problem in India and guidance on response and prevention. They were intended for people involved in prevention, rescue, reintegration, rehabilitation and prosecution—making navigation and clarity critical.

Roots’ response

Roots created a clean, minimalist editorial system supported by illustrations, graphs and structured hierarchy. Translation, editing, proofreading and bilingual layout were handled as one connected production process rather than separate tasks.

Selected applications

A curated selection from the supplied project material, presented to show information hierarchy, visual language and the range of communication created for the assignment.

What this demonstrates

Roots combines editorial judgement, information design, multilingual production and execution discipline to make complex communication clearer, more usable and ready for real-world audiences.
